Hello, I'm Joshua Jung

Game Designer
and Programmer
Based In the Bay Area.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz, with a BA degree in Games and Playable Media.

I enjoy playing a variety of games, ranging from shooters to RPGs. I like to make games that are fun and lighthearted, but can delve into more serious subjects.

On game projects I tend to act as either a game designer, programmer or both. I work well when creating the overall concept of the game, and then refining the idea and if necessary coming up with level ideas and designs. In terms of programming, I typically program the interactions and logics between the player and the environment. I do have some experience in 2d animation ranging from rotoscoping to text animation.

Overall I know how to use the programming languages of Java, Java Script, C# and some python. I can use the Unity and Zero game engines. I have knowledge of how to use microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Exel, along with Adobe Photoshop and After effects.

Projects & Education

Magic Mouster:

Game Designer and Programmer

Helped to develop the games concept and designed some of the levels. Programmed much of the interactions between the player and the environment, such as NPC triggers and player respawns. I also worked as the Unity build manager, ensuring all assets were in and that the build worked. Finally I acted as an internal play tester and an analyst of the play test feedback we got from others.

BulletTime

Game Designer and Programmer

First time working on a games project with a team. Helped to develop the games original concept. Programmed much of the games collisions, spawns, and the power up logics. I also acted as a pseudo producer, scheduling and running meetings with the other members.

Cubic Escape

Game Designer and Programmer

Made with the same team as BulletTime. This was a larger project where I help develop the games overall idea and theme. I designed all of the levels with another teammate. In terms of programming I made all the power ups, as well as the interactions with the environment from buttons and checkpoints, to the respawning of the player.
